Xin chào! My name is Dinh Thanh, and I’m proud to call Hanoi, Vietnam home.

My career in travel began in 1995, when I started out as a tour guide and went on to work as a tour manager, leading group tours across Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Those years on the road gave me a deep, first-hand understanding of Southeast Asia’s cultures, landscapes and people — and a clear sense of what travelers truly value in a well-run trip.

In 2005, I set up my own company, Jewel Tours, with a focus on personalized tour programs built around each traveler’s interests rather than one-size-fits-all itineraries. That founding principle still guides how we design every trip today.

Now, with 30 years in the travel industry, I continue to guide tours personally whenever I can, while overseeing Jewel Tours to ensure every client receives the highest standard of service. I remain committed to sharing the beauty and diversity of Southeast Asia with travelers from around the world.

Driving business growth has always been my passion in travel trade. At Jewel Tours, I bring that same drive to expanding our global presence and building lasting partnerships.

I am Chinese American, and I graduated from Charleston Southern University in the United States with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Business Management.

With 30 years of experience in the travel industry across Asia and local travel companies in the United States, I am proud to now serve as Business Development Manager for Jewel Tours, helping to build our presence and partnerships in the North American market.

I trained as a sales specialist in early 2017, guided by our team leader and supported by Jewel Tours’ management. That training took place both in the office and on the ground at our destinations — learning the cultures, people and services that shape each tour program, so I can share genuine insight with every client.

Since graduating from the Faculty of Tourism in 2011, I’ve worked across hotels and travel agencies, and traveled extensively throughout Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. This experience allows me to design engaging, authentic itineraries for every traveler.

I began my career as an accountant at a state-owned company after graduating from the University of Finance in 1996. After 20 years of financial experience across various roles, I sought a new challenge in a private company with a more open, family-friendly working environment. Joining Jewel Tours was the right choice — not only for the work, but for the wonderful people I get to work with every day.
